my aunt is coming for dinner tonight. she is my mom's twin sister and she makes me nervous. she is martha stewart, she is obsessed with weighing what she did in high school, she is even married (after two divorces) to her high school boyfriend. it is creepy, seeing them is like seeing the photograph of their senior prom, only with blonde streaks, wrinkles and bad tans.

she makes thinly guised comments about how i should lose a little weight, why haven't i gone to grad school? i should visit portland's abundant parks more often. she is nothing like my mom, even though they are fading mirror images of each other, sad eyes and all cheeks when they smile.
